The Clarinda Foundation is a publicly supported, tax-exempt "community foundation" and grant-making organization serving the greater Clarinda area.
Organized in 1982, the Clarinda Foundation's purpose is to nurture charitable giving, enrich quality of life and promote a sense of community - now and forever - in the Clarinda area.
While the heart of any community foundation is its unrestricted endowed funds, the Clarinda Foundation is also a catalyst for specific initiatives or purposes. As a result, the Foundation also administers several funds established by donors with a variety of charitable interests.
The purpose is to provide donors an effective and secure vehicle with a maximum of tax savings to invest in the community. These donations may be in the form of cash, life insurance policies, willed bequests, or gifts of property.
The Clarinda Foundation is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors from the Clarinda area. In addition to the grants programs, the Clarinda Foundation provides significant scholarship programs and by written agreement administers other local foundation assets such as those of The Lied Library Foundation, the Clarinda Community Schools, Cardinal Fund, Trees Forever and Page County Passengers. From time to time the Clarinda Foundation may serve as a conduit for contributions to a major community project such as the building Clarinda Lied Center, moving the Brokaw FFA Chapter House or the reconstruction of the Page County Courthouse Tower.
Mission Statement
